By committing to MYP’s fitness and exercise program, participants will receive guidance from our Program Manager, Melissa Brown, who is a certified personal trainer. Melissa will introduce a variety of workouts designed to encourage women in their weight loss and body toning goals.
Fitness and exercise should be fun and inspiring which is why we will encourage a well-thy lifestyle to achieve greater health and well-being.
Our exercise classes and fitness program are offered free of charge to women who are in transition due to an experienced hardship. All women are welcome and encouraged to join our virtual or in-person fitness classes once they resume.

When it comes to exercising, there are many ways to "bless your heart." In fact, regular exercise has been shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, decrease risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. It also improves blood flow and promotes other heart-healthy habits.

When combined with regular exercise, a healthy diet is a more effective way to lose weight than calories restriction alone. Scales can be repeat offenders if relying on yo-yo dieting and fads for quick fixes. Committing to a fitness routine and making healthy meal choices is worth its "weight" in gold.

Our goal is to help every woman who joins us on this journey to adopt a positive body image and healthy eating habits. Although weight is connected to various types of diseases, it is not the only thing that matters. Get the "skinny" by educating yourself about what is a healthy weight for your body type.

Many women shy away from lifting weights because they don't want to look bulky or develop a "manly" physique. The truth is that strength training also aids in weight loss as the more muscle you build, the more fat you burn.
